Louise Campoy, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Newport, RI
If you keep having the same conversations, falling into familiar relationship patterns, or trying to find your footing through a major life change, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
My Approach
I’m Louise, a licensed marriage and family therapist who works with adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, major life transitions, family-of-origin patterns, anxiety, depression, and ADHD. As a marriage and family therapist, I’m naturally curious about the bigger picture: the relationships, experiences, and patterns that have shaped how you understand yourself and connect with the people around you. My work draws from Gottman Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Systems, and Structural Family Therapy.
Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and genuinely human. I want sessions to feel more like an honest conversation than a clinical appointment, and I’m not afraid to bring humor into the room when it fits. Together, we’ll look at what’s happening now, explore the patterns underneath it, and find practical ways to approach things differently. There’s room to go deep without feeling pressured to move faster than you’re ready for.
I work with clients who may find themselves having the same conflict over and over, navigating infidelity or disconnection, trying to understand how family-of-origin experiences continue to shape their relationships, or adjusting to a major change in their lives. I offer therapy in both English and Spanish, with in-person sessions at our Newport, RI office and telehealth throughout Rhode Island.
My approach includes: Gottman Method | Narrative Therapy | Bowen Couples Therapy | Structural Family Therapy
I hold: MA in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling (Fairfield University) | Certificate in Clinician Training Gottman Couples Therapy (The Gottman Institute)
Licensed in Rhode Island (MFT00217). Currently accepting new clients in person and via telehealth.
